About

Our History

Starting unofficially in 2022, we have co-hosted ritual ceremonies in conjunction with local businesses and charities, providing a space for Pagans, especially Norse Pagans to honor and worship their Gods/Goddesses in an accepting and safe environment. We began accepting membership in the fall of 2023.

Group Goals

In our group, we aim to do the following:

Provide a space for Norse Pagan folk to grow and prosper: Norse Paganism has become a very individual and private practice as more and more people hear the calling of the gods but do not have a “church” to turn to. We aim to serve as a meeting place of like minded individuals to talk about and celebrate the Norse Pantheon in a safe and accepting space. The more energies that are brought to a space, the stronger the connection to the Gods and Ancestors.

Provide an outfit of education to those curious of the Norse Pagan Heathen path: There is a lot of misinformation out there about Norse Pagan symbols, practices and beliefs (see chapter 1 for examples). As a collective, we aim to provide accurate information and sources concerning our beliefs in a calm and respectful manner. Speaking our truths and courageously listening to questions about the belief system.

Provide individuals with a strong support system regardless of spiritual beliefs: While we are a Norse Pagan centered group, we open our doors and arms in respect to all pagan folks looking for a space to practice and honor their gods. Our sponsored ritual spaces are primarily to learn, educate and celebrate the gods, but we open at sumble to all those who wish to call upon their own deities and spirits to join in good faith.

Community Pillars

Today, individuals practicing Norse Paganism, including our community, often focus on the following concepts as part of their belief structure:

Acceptance and Inclusivity: Most versions of Norse Paganism champion inclusivity as crucial in the human world. Norse pagans aim to be truthful, honorable people, who are willing to fight what they believe is right. We believe all people are worthy of respect, and accept anyone; regardless of age, gender, race, or sexuality.

Culture and community: Heathenry, or Norse paganism is as much a culture as it is a faith. People following this belief system believe in the power of community, and connect with others as often as possible. They believe people are more powerful when they’re surrounded by like-minded, or kindred spirits.

Keeping the frith: Many Norse pagans also believe in a concept called “frith”, which translates to unbreakable peace. While many people in this religion are still comfortable debating and arguing with others, they believe in finding ways to maintain faith with others.

Who Are We?

We are a Norse Pagan group who serve pagans in the Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady, Schoharie, Saratoga New York Counties and beyond in the Capital Region of New York State.

We are open to anyone interested in the Old Gods regardless of your experience or path. We welcome the curious wanderer to the learned scholar to join our group, pending a small vetting period.

All of our advertised rites are open to the public. You do not need to be a member of this group to attend at any point. Members are allowed extra privileges within rites making membership worth seeking if you aim to dive deeper into the mysteries of the Gods we honor each month.
